Rams LB Travin Howard to miss 2020 season with torn meniscus

Last year it was Micah Kiser, this year it’s Travin Howard.

For the second straight season, the Los Angeles Rams will be without a likely starter at linebacker. Sean McVay announced on Tuesday that Howard suffered a torn meniscus in practice last week and will need surgery. As a result, he’ll miss the entire 2020 season.

Howard was projected to be a starter next to Kiser after playing well at the end of last season. He’s had a strong offseason and was putting together a great camp in Thousand Oaks, making this a devastating injury.

The Rams selected Howard in the seventh round of the 2018 draft out of TCU, where he was a safety before transitioning to linebacker in the NFL.
