Rams hosting OT Tytus Howard for pre-draft visit

The offensive line is certain to be among the top priorities for the Los Angeles Rams in the draft, given their holes and unclear future at several positions. John Sullivan and Rodger Saffold are gone, while Andrew Whitworth could retire after next season.

They do have projected starters in Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen at left guard and center, respectively, but adding depth is a must. Having already hosted a handful of offensive linemen, the Rams are bringing in another tackle.

According to Josh Norris of Rotoworld, Alabama State tackle Tytus Howard is visiting the Rams on Tuesday.

Howard is a difficult prospect to project. Some mock drafts have him going as early as Round 2, while other analysts don’t see him as anything more than a Day 3 pick. He only began playing offensive line in college after being a quarterback in high school and experimenting at tight end in college for a short period of time.

He needs a lot of work as a prospect and won’t be an early starter in the NFL, which definitely hurts his draft stock. Fortunately for the Rams, they don’t need an immediate starter at tackle with Whitworth and Rob Havenstein on the roster.
