Rams hire former PFF analyst Zac Robinson as assistant QBs coach

Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams are adding to their coaching staff, making yet another intriguing hire. According to Adam Schefter, the Rams are hiring Zac Robinson as their assistant quarterbacks coach.

It was previously reported that Shane Waldron will be the primary quarterbacks coach, So the two will be taking over for Zac Taylor, who left to become the Bengals’ head coach.

Robinson played quarterback at Oklahoma State before bouncing around in the NFL as a practice squad player. He was a seventh-round pick in 2010 by the Patriots. He was released that September and signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad the following day.

After being released by the Seahawks, he signed with the Lions in November and eventually the Bengals in 2011. He was released in 2014.

Robinson also worked as a senior analyst for Pro Football Focus and is just 32 years old. There’s no denying Robinson’s track record when it comes to analyzing quarterback play, given his time at PFF, and as a former QB trainer, he’s working his way up the ranks, too.
