Rams had pre-draft meeting with speedy WR/KR D’Wayne Eskridge

The Rams’ top three wide receivers are all but set for 2021 with Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson likely to handle most of the snaps, but there’s still room for another playmaker. Western Michigan wide receiver D’Wayne Eskridge is one of the most explosive players in the draft class and the Rams have shown some interest in him.

According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, the Rams recently held a pre-draft meeting with Eskridge over video conference. With the combine being scrapped, teams have begun meeting with prospects over Zoom already to gather information they would’ve otherwise gained in Indianapolis.

Eskridge has a chance to be drafted in the first round despite being undersized at 5-foot-9 and 188 pounds. He’s a dynamic playmaker who averaged 23.3 yards per catch at Western Michigan in 2020, scoring eight touchdowns on only 33 receptions, gaining 768 yards.

He’s also a weapon on special teams, returning 17 kickoffs for 467 yards and a touchdown last season. If the Rams are looking for a deep threat and playmaker on offense, which they should be, Eskridge is a perfect target.

It’s just not certain that he’ll make it to them at No. 57 overall.
