Rams’ first pick in 2021 NFL draft will be at No. 57 overall

With the Rams’ season now over following their loss to the Packers on Saturday, their attention turns to the offseason. That includes free agency and the draft, which will kick off in March and April, respectively.

The Rams will be without a first-round pick once again due to the Jalen Ramsey trade, so their initial selection in the 2021 NFL draft will come in the second round. The draft order is set for the first 28 picks in each round, so the Rams now know where they’ll be picking.

Their first pick will come at No. 57 overall in the second round. The Ravens (11-5), Browns (11-5) and Saints (12-4) were all eliminated in the divisional round, too, but they’re slotted behind the Rams (10-6) based on their regular-season records.

In the third round, the Rams are slated to pick at No. 89. That pick will essentially be 88th overall, however, because the Patriots were forced to forfeit their 2021 third-rounder (No. 77) for filming the Bengals’ sideline.

The Rams will receive a third-round compensatory pick for losing Brad Holmes to the Lions, and they’ll likely get another third-rounder for the departure of Dante Fowler Jr. Those picks would come at the end of the third round.

The Rams held the No. 57 pick in last year’s draft, too, where they selected Van Jefferson out of Florida. At No. 89, the Vikings selected cornerback Cameron Dantzler from Mississippi State.
