Rams DT Aaron Donald injured, questionable to return vs. Saints

The New Orleans Saints suffered a big loss against the Los Angeles Rams, with quarterback Drew Brees striking his throwing hand against the forearm of Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Brees was pulled for the game and officially announced as questionable to return, with backup Teddy Bridgewater taking his place.

Minutes later, Donald suffered his own injury. He was caught in a pile of linemen and fell to the turf, waving for assistance from Rams trainers, who helped him up and escorted him to the locker room. The Rams announced that he would also be questionable to return.

It’s been a sloppy game. On the following Rams possession, Rams right guard Austin Blythe went down with a lower leg injury and had to be carted off to the locker room. Both teams have been penalized frequently and the score is tied up at 3-3 late in the second quarter.
