Rams doing homework on Oregon TE Jacob Breeland, met with him Wednesday

Tight end is a position of strength for the Los Angeles Rams, boasting three quality players with Tyler Higbee, Gerald Everett and Johnny Mundt. It’s not a spot the team needs to address, but as is the case with just about every position, they’ll do their due diligence.

According to Justin Melo of Draft Wire, the Rams visited Oregon tight end Jacob Breeland on Wednesday night.

Breeland was a valuable red zone target for quarterback Justin Herbert last season, catching six touchdown passes on 26 total receptions. He racked up 405 yards, which was the most he had in a season at Oregon.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and 252 pounds, he has excellent size for the position. He does need to improve on his route running and hands, as well as his run blocking. And as is often the case for tight ends, his transition to the NFL will be fairly steep.
