Rams-Cowboys not expected to be affected by air quality from wildfires

California has once again been ravaged by wildfires once again recently, causing lower air quality in the Bay Area and stretching all the way down to Southern California. The Rams practiced on Thursday with the sky an eerie orange color, and they’ll be monitoring the air quality heading into Week 1 against Dallas.

Rams COO Kevin Demoff told reporters Friday that the team has been in contact with the NFL and local officials about the air quality, but it’s not expected to impact this weekend’s game in Inglewood.

As of Friday, the air quality index in Inglewood was 156, which is labeled as unhealthy. Children older adults and anyone with respiratory issues are advised not to stay outside for extended periods of time.

Because SoFi Stadium is an indoor/outdoor stadium and not a true dome, the air quality could be a factor in extreme circumstances. But fortunately, it’s not expected to impact the game.
