Rams change up starting O-line, flip Blythe and Edwards at guard

Coming out of the bye, there was some speculation that the Los Angeles Rams might switch up their offensive line. With Brian Allen and Austin Blythe both struggling mightily this season, a change was reasonable to expect.

Well, the Rams did make a tweak to the line, but not by benching either player. Instead, they put Blythe at left guard and moved rookie David Edwards to right guard. Edwards has played well since taking over for the injured Joseph Noteboom, so the Rams feel confident asking him to switch to the right side.

After all, he did spend his career at Wisconsin at right tackle, so he’s familiar with the footwork that comes with playing on that side of the line.

Austin Corbett, who the Rams acquired from the Browns before the trade deadline, is active for the first time this week. Jamil Demby and Bobby Evans are healthy scratches, so Corbett will be the backup on the interior for the Rams.
