Rams bring back LB Bryce Hager with 1-year contract

The Los Angeles Rams are lacking depth at inside linebacker after cutting Mark Barron, but they’re beginning to fortify the position. They drafted Dakota Allen in the seventh round and now they’re bringing back Bryce Hager.

The Rams announced Monday that they have re-signed Hager to a one-year deal, ending his stay on the free-agent market. He was an unrestricted free agent.

Hager has been a staple on special teams since joining the Rams as a seventh-round pick in 2015. He also spent time as the Rams’ backup linebacker, never missing a game in four seasons. In his career, he has 37 total tackles with three passes defensed and one forced fumble.

Hager could compete with Micah Kiser for the starting job next to Cory Littleton, but he’ll likely remain a backup and a special teams player.
