Rams’ Blake Countess, 5 others sign free agent tenders

The Los Angeles Rams begin their offseason workout program on Monday as players and coaches returned to work for the first time since the Super Bowl. With these workouts kicking off, the Rams made a couple of moves official.

The team announced Monday that restricted free agent Blake Countess signed his one-year tender. Additionally, five exclusive rights free agents also signed their tenders: Dominique Hatfield, JoJo Natson, KhaDarel Hodge, Morgan Fox and Kevin Peterson.

Countess was given an original-round tender and will make $2 million in 2019 as a result. He’s a versatile defensive back who can play both safety and corner, bringing value to the Rams defense under Wade Phillips.

Fox, Natson and Hatfield will make $645,000 on the ERFA tender, while Hodge and Peterson will make $570,000. They’ve already been accounted for in the Rams’ salary cap, according to Over The Cap.

Fox and Peterson both suffered torn ACLs last offseason and were forced to miss the entire 2018 campaign, so they’re attempting to bounce back as contributors on defense next season.
