Rams are underdogs vs. Cowboys in Week 2 of preseason

When the Rams and Dallas Cowboys square off on Saturday night in Hawaii, none of Los Angeles’ top players will be on the field. The Rams are taking the same approach they had last year, opting to keep the majority of their starters on the sideline for the entire preseason.

As a result, they may not win many (if any) exhibition games. The extended rest had no ill effects on them last year as they went 13-3 and reached the Super Bowl, so there shouldn’t be any real concern about rust in 2019, either.

The Rams are once again underdogs in their second preseason game of the year, this time against Dallas. According to USA TODAY odds, the Cowboys are favored by two points over Los Angeles despite the Rams being the “home” team.

The over/under for the game is set at 41 points, which is the fifth-lowest of the week.

Todd Gurley isn’t expected to make the trip to Hawaii, and other veterans will also be held out of the game. It’ll be Blake Bortles, John Wolford and Brandon Allen leading the offense again, though they only put up three points combined against the Raiders in the preseason opener.

Once the real games begin, the Rams should be favored over the majority of their opponents again.
