Rams are now only team without 1st-quarter touchdown this season

If you were wondering which team has been the worst in the first quarter this season, there isn’t much debate anymore after Week 5. The Los Angeles Rams have scored 12 total points in the first quarter this season and are the only team in the league without a touchdown in the first quarter.

After the Panthers, Texans and Steelers scored first-quarter touchdowns on Sunday, the Rams sit alone as the only team without one.

The Rams’ slow starts are a big reason for their struggles this year, but fortunately their defense has held up its end of the bargain. They’ve allowed just 14 points in the first quarter all season, so the damage has been limited.

Still, the offense has to pick up its end of the slack. Jared Goff doesn’t have a first-quarter touchdown this season and has only completed 57.1 percent of his passes – the lowest of any quarter this season. He also has just 257 yards in the first quarter, which is 180 fewer than any other quarter.
