Rams are now 1.5-point underdogs vs. Bucs after opening as favorites

It was somewhat surprising to see the Los Angeles Rams open as the favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, even if it was only by a minuscule 0.5 points. That essentially made it a pick ‘em spread, with only a tie being impacted by the 0.5-point margin.

Well, the Rams’ time as the favorites didn’t last very long. According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Buccaneers are now favored by 1.5 points on the road against the Rams. The over/under has moved up one point, too, going from 54.5 at the open to 55.5 now.

The Rams were favored in their first two games of the season, by eight points over the Bears and 3.5 points over the Colts. Since Sean McVay took over in 2017, they’ve only been underdogs 11 times, only six times by more than 1.5 points.

In those 11 games as underdogs, the Rams are 4-7 but have covered the spread six times. The last time they were underdogs in the regular season was in Week 16 last season against the Seahawks. In Week 11 against the Bucs last year, the Rams were four-point underdogs.
