Rams are NFL’s 4th-most valuable team at $4.8 billion, up 20% from 2020

The amount of success the Rams have had since moving from St. Louis to Los Angeles has been remarkable, with the exception of their first season after the relocation in 2016. They’ve made the playoffs three times, reached the Super Bowl and had four seasons above .500.

Oh, and they opened a $5 billion stadium last year in Inglewood, even though fans were unfortunately unable to attend any of the team’s eight home games.

The result of the move to Los Angeles has resulted in a huge spike in overall value for the Rams. Forbes released its list of the most valuable NFL franchises for 2021 and the Rams stayed put at No. 4. Incredibly, they increased their value by 20% from last year, putting them at $4.8 billion.

That’s behind only the Giants ($4.85 billion), Patriots ($5 billion) and Cowboys ($6.5 billion).

Washington is fifth on the list and also increased its value by 20%. The Buccaneers, coming off their Super Bowl win, are now worth $2.94 billion, up a league-high 29% from 2020.

This time last year, the Rams were worth $3.8 billion, which made them the 11th-most valuable sports franchise in the world.

Clearly the pandemic didn’t hurt the Rams’ value at all last year, nor did it have much of an impact on the rest of the NFL, either, thanks to new media deals.
