Ramraiders smash through wall and steal five cars from Ford dealership

A gang of thieves stole five cars from a dealership after using another vehicle to ram through a perimeter wall.

Police said about 10 burglars struck at Evans Halshaw on Manchester Road in Altrincham on Sunday night.

Five Fords, including Fiestas and a Focus, were taken during the 'deliberately targeted', 'well planned' incident.

One thief broke into the dealership at 11.20pm on Sunday night and stole a number of car keys.

Hours later, just after 2am on Monday morning, police said a large group of offenders returned and stole five cars, using a vehicle to ram through a perimeter wall.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Officers have released the number plates of the stolen cars, in a bid to help track them down.

They are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

The vehicles stolen were:

A silver Ford Focus -  GF62 WEP

A blue Ford Fiesta - MK18 LGC

A grey Ford Fiesta - DN18 JJZ

A silver Ford Fiesta - MH68 EOU

A white Ford Fiesta - MJ19 OEX

Inspector Dave Jones, from GMP’s Trafford Division, said: "This was a well-planned burglary that has deliberately targeted this business premises.

"I know people in the community will be worried by this burglary.

"I would like to reassure the public and advise we are treating this as an isolated incident and are determined to find those responsible.

"We have been following a number of lines of enquiry and are appealing for the public to come forward with any information or dashcam footage they might have.

"While this burglary took place in the early hours, the offenders used a vehicle to ram a wall to enable them to get the vehicles out.

"As such I believe there may be potential witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have either seen or heard the incident on going. I would urge those people to contact the police as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7527 or 101, quoting incident number 523 of 27/05/2019, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
