Rammy on Glasgow train sees three people injured

Three people have been injured in a fight on a train involving a large group of youths.

The incident happened on a train travelling from Balloch, West Dunbartonshire, to Anniesland in Glasgow's west end on Thursday.

British Transport Police (BTP) were called to Anniesland station just after 6.20pm.

The force said one person was arrested but they have since been released while inquiries into the incident continue.

Three people are said to have received treatment at the scene for superficial injuries.

Officers are hoping that someone may have witnessed the incident, given the fact trains to and from the Loch Lomond area have been busy throughout the week thanks to recent good weather.

The incident occurred just days after a 16-year-old was left with serious head and arm injuries after a broad daylight attack in Balloch Park.

The assault happened at around 5.40pm on Tuesday June 29 next to the pier, with the victim rushed to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment.

Anyone with information can contact BTP by texting 61016, calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 552 of July 1, or calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
