Claudio Silva has a new opponent just over a week out from UFC on ESPN 5 in New Jersey.
He will now take on newcomer Cole Williams, after his original opponent, Ramazan Emeev, was forced out due to visa issues. MMA Junkie confirmed the new pairing after an initial report from Combate. RT Sport was first to report the news of Emeev’s withdrawal.
UFC on ESPN 5 takes place Aug. 3 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The entire card airs on ESPN.
Undefeated in the UFC, Silva (13-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) has not lost since dropping his first pro MMA fight. He is on a 13-fight winning streak and is coming off a third-round submission submission win over Danny Roberts at UFC on ESPN+ 5 in March.
Newcomer Williams (11-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is riding a nine fight winning streak and now looks to put a stop on Silva’s impressive UFC run. He is coming off a unanimous decision win over Charlie Brown at Chosen Few Fighting Championships 15 in September 2018.
UFC on ESPN 5 is headlined by former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington, who takes on former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler.
