It’s been a whole 25 years since Friendsgraced our TV screens – and one of the cult sitcom’s most cherished characters is being honoured by a luxury fashion brand.

Ralph Lauren has curated a collection inspired by the wardrobe of Rachel Green, who worked at the American label over the course of several seasons on the show.

Several memorable moments of Rachel’s storyline involved Ralph Lauren (remember that awkward interview kissing scene?) and the 79-year-old designer even appeared in one of the episodes himself.

Perhaps, then, it was only a matter of time until Ralph Lauren decided to return the favour and pay homage to the show.

In honour of the special anniversary, the brand has teamed up with Warner Bros to curate a collection dubbed “Wear To Work” based on Rachel’s sartorial legacy.

The clothes themselves are a mix of Nineties and Noughties staples – think polo-neck knits, pin-striped suits and midi skirts – and come from both Polo Ralph Lauren and Lauren Ralph Lauren, meaning some prices start at £120.

Key pieces include a scarlet wool-blend blazer (£300) and a houndstooth wool-blend waistcoat (£229), both of which immediately conjure up images of Rachel dashing around at work in the series.

The collection will be sold in New York at Bloomingdales, which was the company that gave Rachel her very first fashion job in the series. The store will also house a dedicated Friends installation to mark the anniversary and will serve customers coffee from a pop-up version of Central Perk.

Fans can also buy pieces from the Wear to Work collection online and in Ralph Lauren shops.

You can view the collection here.
