Ralf Rangnick has outlined Manchester United 's stance on doing business in the January transfer window - with the German casting doubt on any potential incomings.
United were one of the Premier League 's biggest spenders in the summer, shelling out big money to seal deals for Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite that investment, United have failed to launch a title challenge this year and sit a staggering 19 points behind rivals Manchester City heading into 2022; albeit having played two games less.
United's squad also still feels unbalanced after their summer splurge.
But Rangnick has heavily hinted that the club are unlikely to spend big in January to resolve that or any other issues.

“The transfer window in the winter only makes sense if they increase the quality," Rangnick said after United's 3-1 win over Burnley on Thursday night.
"So far we have not spoken about that.
“My focus is on the current players, we have enough players so there is no lack of numbers.”
It's common knowledge that bringing in a top-quality defensive midfielder is high on the Old Trafford hierarchy's agenda.
United have been extensively linked with Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, but it's highly unlikely that the club would be able to prise either of the young England stars away from their respective clubs in January.
While incoming may be short on the ground, the club are expected to be active in moving players on, with Anthony Martial one fringe player who is expected to depart Manchester in the New Year.
If United do elect to pass on making any new additions, it means there's a chance that Rangnick's short stint in charge at United could pass without him making a single signing.
The 63-year-old is only due to be in charge at Old Trafford on an interim basis until the end of the season as things stand - although he has already agreed to transition into a two-year consultancy role and is likely to have a big say when United set about employing a permanent replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the summer.
Despite steadying the ship after the Norwegian's arrival, Rangnick admitted earlier this week that he was disheartened by the lack of progress made by the club over the last month.
United's 3-1 win over Burnley on Thursday night may have gone some way to appeasing the ex-RB Leipzig chief, though.
That victory lifted them into sixth spot in the Premier League, where they sit four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal with a game in hand.
And the performance left Rangnick happier than he'd been with Monday evening's lacklustre showing against Newcastle.
"As expected it was a very tough physical game against a team who play very physical. We also showed the qualities we have in our team," the United boss told Amazon Prime Video.
"It was important today to raise the energy level. The whole team performance was a lot better, I was pleased with the performances of our wingers - Jadon did well.
"Mason, Eddie (Edinson Cavani) and Cristiano, the work effort was amazing."
