Demba Ba has claimed Ralf Rangnick 'will change things in the Premier League' following his Manchester United appointment.
Rangnick was installed as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's interim successor last month and he's since gone unbeaten as interim boss.
The German will spend six months on the touchline before moving upstairs into a consultancy role for two years.
Rangnick has influenced some of the world's most elite coaches such as Jurgen Klopp, Thomas Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann and his calculated, tactically driven approach seems exactly what United need to build the foundation to end their silverware drought.
Ba enjoyed an excellent career at clubs like Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham and Besiktas, however, he actually made his most career appearances at Hoffenheim, where he worked with Rangnick, who clearly left a lasting impression on the centre-forward.
Rangnick is now Ba's mentor and the forward was making monthly trips to Moscow to observe his work, as he explained.
“I’m a student of Ralf; with him it’s like I’m in the library. When he opens up, I read,” Ba told inews.
“If Ralf can save me five years by telling me, ‘There’s a trap here, there’s a trap there’, I’m going to take it. He is scary: he has so much knowledge of the game and so much energy. He never stops.
“I saw him speaking with players to tell them what he wanted them to do and it is a method of communication which is so different. It is tailored to the individual and is about improvement.

"There are not many people who can bring that level of detail to their coaching or their direction, and you can see the players buy into it. I could see the improvement from day to day and the way the players were changing.
“He did it with me when I was a player. When you see the whole plan that he sets out to you, you cannot say no. I knew then that this guy was special. He will change things in the Premier League. He will 100 per cent be a success and the club will change.
"If he is given the chance to work how he wants to work, there is no doubt that he will be a special coach for them.”
