Ralf Rangnick will be hoping to follow a similar path to Thomas Tuchel following his appointment at Manchester United.
Since his interim move to Old Trafford was confirmed, Rangnick has already revealed he rejected a move to Stamford Bridge ahead of Tuchel's appointment, and also spoke about how he wants to close the gap on the European Champions and their title rivals.
"At the time when Chelsea contacted me, in February, they only spoke about the option to become interim manager for four months, without any prospect to work in the long-term together," the ex-RB Leipzig manager said in his first unveiling press conference.
"Here, now we are talking about six-and-a-half months. We only have one-third of the games played in the Premier League and we have also agreed upon a two-year advisory role after those six-and-a-half months and, to be honest, if a club like Manchester United contacts you for such a role you cannot possibly turn it down."
It will take some doing to replicate Tuchel, however, as the Chelsea boss stormed to the Champions League crown, secured a top-four spot and is also mounting a Premier League title charge this time around - something United's boss has admitted was "incredible" and will be difficult to follow.
The Rangnick era did get off to a good start on Sunday afternoon, though, with unexpected man Fred looking like a different player already under the German tactician, as the Brazilian scored the winner in the tight 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Next up for United is the final Champions League group stage fixture against Young Boys.
On the same day, Tuchel's side will be looking to get back to winning ways against Zenit Saint Petersburg, as they aim to put the West Ham disappointment firmly behind them at this crucial point of the season.
Ahead of those two games, Rangnick has admitted the feat Tuchel achieved in the Champions League with Chelsea is one he would find difficult to replicate with United.
"To do what Tuchel did in 4 months at Chelsea was incredible," the 63-year-old said.
"To win the Champions League, finish 4th in the PL, and now be towards the top of the league with almost the same players is a big achievement. I am not sure I can say that things will develop in the same way for me at United."
Is this a ploy for Rangnick to immediately lower expectations of the United fanbase, so if they were to win their fourth Champions League title, it would taste even sweeter?
