Ralf Rangnick confirms Donny van de Beek's conduct at Man Utd after training ground leak

Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Donny van de Beek is a model professional at Manchester United after Rio Ferdinand revealed he's been hearing good things about the Dutchman.

Van de Beek has played very little football at Old Trafford following his £35million transfer from Ajax in the summer of 2020.

He is part of a group linked with the exit this January amid claims a number of players have been causing disruption behind the scenes at United in a bid to push through transfers away.

But Van de Beek is not one of these individuals and is instead knuckling down in training in a bid to win a place in the starting XI.

"He's always performing at a high level in training," Rangnick said of Van de Beek on Friday.

"With the World Cup coming up in the winter, he wants to play for his country. I can understand his wish and desire to play. On the other hand, we have a lot of competition in our squad exactly in those positions."

Ferdinand recently spoke out about Van de Beek while discussing the way certain individuals have been behaving at Man United amid the current turmoil at the club.

He revealed he's been hearing really good things regarding the Dutchman's conduct.

"There are types of players in these situations," said the former Man United centre-back on his Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE YouTube channel.

"A player like a Donny van de Beek, who is conducting himself very well from what I hear from people on the inside, who just isn't getting game time.

"You're happy for those guys to go and find time to play.

"And there are other players who understand being a sub and being on the peripheral of a squad and that they're impact players at times of the season. They know they're going to get minimal time and accept it.

"And there's a third type who is sitting there and they're saying I'm not playing and I'm going to cause havoc to get out. Cause ructions, leak stuff in the media, be a disruption in the changing room and training ground.

"They're a bad egg and you want them to get out.

"You go to the manager and say get rid of that quick because we don't need that in here. They're going to destabilise this changing room and they're not going to get any better. They're not good people to have around."
