Ralf Rangnick 'agrees first Manchester United signing' more transfer rumours

Manchester United may have a squad capable for challenging for major trophies this season but it still needs additions in certain areas.

Ralf Rangnick is in charge on an interim basis until the end of the season and will have an idea of where the team needs strengthening in the January transfer window.

Though United picked up Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo over the summer, it is unlikely to prevent Rangnick from dipping back into the market for more stars as he competes in the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

One position in which United are likely to sign a player is central midfield.

From Declan Rice to Frenkie de Jong, the Red Devils have been linked to a whole host of players and RB Leipzig's Amadou Haidara has seen his name crop up more and more when it comes to a potential move.

The 23-year-old has a release clause of £32million and has worked with Rangnick before, with The Sun confident the pair will reunite in January.

If United were to bring Haidara to Old Trafford, he could be joined by Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele.

The French winger is out of contract in the summer and according to the Daily Express, United are keen to steal a march on Premier League side Newcastle United.

Rangnick will be aware of the former Borussia Dortmund star during his stay in Germany with Leipzig so knows everything he can do.

Though he has endured a tough time in Spain due to injuries, the World Cup winner is still only 24 and a change of scenery could allow him to fulfil his potential in a new league.
