AGRA: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait started an indefinite dharna of the farmers on the grounds of Government Inter College located in the Civil Line Police Station area of Muzaffarnagar on Saturday.
The national spokesperson of the influential north Indian farmers' union said that the agitation shall continue till the government fulfils the farmers’ demands made during the year-long protest at Delhi's borders.
"MSP guarantee law, stray cattle problem, electricity meters on tubewells, pending sugarcane dues, new sugarcane State Advised Price (SAP), etc are some of the issues we want the government to resolve," he stated. He added that the farmers are holding agitations in Punjab and other states as well.
