Raju Gari Gadhi 2, starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Samantha Akkineni, released on October 13. For a film starring Nagarjuna, it received decent response and recorded collections of Rs 8.4 crore worldwide on day 1. According to Andhraoboxoffice.com, the film made Rs 6.1 crore in Nizam region and Andhra Pradesh alone. It collected a gross of Rs 1 crore in USA and the estimated collections from other regions stands at Rs 1.3 crore.
It was also recorded that the film did pre-release business of Rs 24 crore through theatrical rights. For the film to be called a hit, it would have to register a collection of Rs 24 crore or more.
Even though the film received mixed response from the audience and critics, it has had a good start at the box office. If the performance of the film shows an upward trend over the opening weekend, it could be termed a hit within the first week.
With many releases slotted for the Diwali week, the Nagarjuna starrer has gain positive word of mouth to stay in the theatres.
Also starring Vennela Kishore, Praveen, Ashwin Babu and Seerat Kapoor the film was about Amrutha (Samantha),a lawyer graduate. Nagarjuna played the role of a mentalist and Vennela Kishore, Praveen and Ashwin are three friends who invested together to open up a resort.
