Rajon Rondo agrees to return to Lakers on two-year deal

The Los Angeles Lakers have finally solidified the point guard position and they’re bringing back one of the key members from last year’s squad to do it.

Veteran point guard Rajon Rondo has agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowki. Rondo was a key member of the Lakers last season, especially as a leader among the team. But he only played in 46 games due to injuries, including a hand that he broke twice during the season.

Rondo is also coming off a solid season shooting the ball from the outside, shooting 36% on 3-pointers last season. Rondo started 29 of the 42 games he played in last season, but it remains to be seen how head coach Frank Vogel will set up his lineups around LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Rondo has experience with many of the Lakers key contributors, including two of the newest ones, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis. Rondo was with Cousins and Davis on the 2017-18 New Orleans Pelicans team that made the second round of the playoffs. Rondo also played with Cousins for one season in Sacramento.
