Rajkot: Six lane over bridge at Madhapar cross roads inaugurated

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel vitually inaugurated the Madhapar cross roads, Rajkot six lane Overbridge from Gandhinagar in the presence of minister of state for women and child welfare and social justice and empowerment Bhanu Babariya.

On this occasion, the chief minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has developed a system to ensure that basic infrastructural facilities like electricity, roads, and network reach every part of the state. The team of the state government is carrying forward this tradition and working to strengthen these facilities.

Patel further stated that the bridge will enhance the convenience of Rajkot's citizens, and it will also provide added convenience for the large vehicles serving the surrounding industrial areas. This flyover is expected to result in time and fuel savings for citizens travelling between Jamnagar and Rajkot.

Over the span of 9 years, the country has witnessed the construction of an impressive 3,28,000 km of rural roads, he said. He said that about 37 km of highways are being constructed daily across the nation. In a significant move aimed at bolstering infrastructure development, the state government has allocated a substantial budget of Rs. 20,600 crores this year.

The government is not just spending 2,800 crore rupees to construct a four-lane highway but also aims to further develop roads in order to enhance the ease of living in major cities along with the expansion of the highways.

It is noteworthy that this bridge has been constructed at a cost exceeding Rs. 60 crores. It spans a length of 1125 meters with a width of 2x11 meters. Both sides of the over bridge have been prepared by the State Roads and Buildings Department. Additionally, a 50-meter-wide junction at Madhapar Chowkdi and another 30-meter-wide junction from Madhapar to Ishvariya Park have been constructed to facilitate smooth traffic flow on the over bridge.
