Rajasthan: Three NHs to be made accident-free, says ACS

JAIPUR: The state government has decided to make three NHs accident-free. These include Shahjahanpur to Ajmer (NH 448), Bar-Bilara-Jodhpur (NH 25) and Sikar to Bikaner (NH 110). ACS transport Abhay Kumar said the initiative has been taken in compliance with the budget announcement.

The ACS said the response time of ambulances should be further improved. The Good Samaritans, who immediately take the seriously injured in road accidents to hospital, should be encouraged by rewarding them under Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Jeevan Raksha Yojna. He directed the SPs and PWD officials to take strict action by tracking speeding vehicles with the help of the NHAI. He said data related to road accidents should be uploaded immediately through the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) application so that they can be scientifically analyzed to reduce accidents.

Transport and road safety commissioner Mahendra Soni said PWD is the nodal department for road engineering, they should be strengthened in coordination with NHAI.
