Rajasthan: Paper leaks were common under BJP govt, says Shanti Dhariwal

JAIPUR: UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal told the assembly on Thursday that during the BJP government, REET paper had leaked in 2016 and 2018 and it was not even investigated by the SOG.

He said question papers of five exams leaked during the tenure of the previous government — RAS, RJS in 2014, LDC in 2013 and Jail Prahari in 2018, but not a single case was handed over by the then government to the CBI, not even to the SOG, said Dhariwal.

Dhariwal assured the House that a bill was being prepared by the government to stop the paper leaks in future with stringent provisions of punishment so that such irregularities don’t recur.

The minister was replying to supplementary questions by the MLAs during the Question Hour.

He said 10, 11, 12 and 18 people were arrested by the previous government in various paper leak cases whereas in the REET case, more than 38 people have been arrested by the government so far. He alleged that no proper investigation was not done in various paper leak cases under the previous government, due to which the courage of the copying gang had increased.

Earlier, in a written reply to the original question of MLA Baljit Yadav, the minister said in the last three years, a total of eight cases of paper leaks had been registered in the state and 85 persons had been arrested. Chargesheets have been filed in four cases while in one case, the chargesheet was yet to be filed, he added.
