Rajasthan man duped of Rs 2.75 lakh on pretext of Dubai job

JAIPUR: A man living at the Bhidasari village under Deedwana police station area of Nagaur was cheated of Rs 2.75 lakh by a conman on pretext of getting him a job abroad as staff nurse.

After realizing that he was cheated, the man registered an FIR at the Deedwana police station late on Friday evening. A conman who claimed to be an agent of a placement agency in Dubai first interviewed the victim through video call and later asked him to pay money for VISA and other documents.

The victim Shiv Kumar Beniwal in the FIR stated that on January 4 he got a call in which the caller claimed to be an agent of a placement company in Dubai. “The caller introduced himself as Dinesh Kumar and told the victim that there is a job of male staff nurse in Dubai. Later, Shiv Kumar answered to all the questions asked in the interview. He was told that he was selected, and some documentation is needed for his joining and departure to Dubai,” said a senior police officer while quoting the FIR on Saturday.

Later, the conman sent him an offer letter and an appointment letter. “After Shiv Kumar was satisfied with everything, he was asked to pay money in lieu of making his health card, VISA processing, entry permit and Covid security,” officer added.
