Rajasthan: Man beaten to death in Kota, body found on school premises

KOTA: The body of a 28-year-old slightly mentally challenged man was recovered from the premises of a government school building in Chandrapura village under Chechat police station of Kota district on Friday.

The man was allegedly beaten to death with sticks by some unidentified assailants, who then dumped the body on the school premises after the crime.

Senior police officers and FSL squad rushed to the spot and collected necessary evidence. The deceased was identified as Dayaram Gurjar. The staff of a government middle school in Chandrapura on Friday informed police about a bloodstained body of a youth lying in the verandah of the school building following which police rushed to the spot and recovered it, Chechat SHO Rajendra Prasad Meena said. There were several marks of injuries over the body and pieces of wood were stuffed into his mouth that suggested the deceased youth was severely beaten with sticks and was thrown into the school verandah, he added.

The youth was reportedly mentally challenged and would keep moving through the village, he added.

The motive behind the murder is not yet clear, he said. Following a report by family members, police lodged a case of murder under Section 302 of IPC against unidentified accused and began investigation into the matter, he added.
