Rajasthan govt to display names of legal liquor shops to avoid confusion

JAIPUR: Excise minister Parsadi Lal Meena, while accepting the suggestion of Opposition leader Gulab Chand Kataria, told the assembly on Monday that the list of licensed liquor shops in each of the constituencies would be displayed at public places to identify illegal stores operating in their areas.

He said the list of licensed liquor shops would be made available to all the MLAs within 7 days in addition to all public institutions including panchayats and municipalities so that action could be initiated against the illegal ones.

Responding to a question by Dharmendra Kumar during Question Hour, the minister said a committee had been formed at the district level under the chairmanship of the collector, of which the local MLAs are also members, to act against illegal liquor shops.
