JAIPUR: The government on Friday ruled out a CBI inquiry into the REET paper leak. Parliamentary affairs minister Shanti Dhariwal said the government was ready to reply to the Opposition and prepared to accommodate their suggestions for a foolproof system to conduct the examination, but ruled out any CBI inquiry.
Intervening in the matter, Speaker CP Joshi said deserving children should be ensured that they get the jobs. The government should give a statement on how it would prevent racketeers from manipulating examinations. “I do not want to go into the Opposition's demand for a CBI inquiry, but fair selection for jobs is a serious issue. It is necessary to identify the perpetrators of paper leaks,” he said.
“It is also necessary to end the deadlock in the House and discuss this serious issue. The government should also be listened to and the House has to ensure that such incidents should not happen in the future,” he said.
Parliamentary affairs minister Shanti Dhariwal said the government would not conduct a CBI inquiry into the paper leak. “The government is ready to reply on REET in the House. We will also take into account BJP raj. If you have courage, then argue in the House. All this is being done at the behest of Delhi,” the minister alleged.
Leader of the Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria said the police and administrative officers were responsible for the security of the question paper in the entire state. “Why only people selected from the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle were appointed at this education complex in Jaipur from where the REET question paper was leaked,” he asked. He also alleged that the ministers were involved in the leak.
