Rajasthan: Farmers to get Rs 18,500 crore loan by March, says Cooperative dept

JAIPUR: Cooperative minister Udailal Anjana said that by March-2022, crop loans worth Rs 18,500 crore would be distributed to the farmers associated through cooperative banks. He said that crop loans of Rs 16,181 crore have been disbursed so far.

He was addressing the departmental review meeting at the secretariat on Wednesday. He directed that farmers should not be deprived of insurance. Such a provision should also be made that in case of any kind of accident of a farmer, the victim's family could get the sum insured without any hassle.

The co-operative Minister said that the election process in village service cooperative societies should be completed expeditiously.

He said that the remaining elections of dairy institutions should also be completed in a phased manner. Anjana said that in relation to the formation of new village service cooperative societies, the share amount should be reduced from 5 lakh to 3 lakh and the minimum number of members also be reduced to 300 from 500.

Principal secretary (co-operatives) Dinesh Kumar said that for the custom hiring centres, money has been transferred to 75 societies and in the next few months an amount of Rs 10 crore will be transferred to more societies.
