Rajasthan: Cabinet approves land at cheap rates for welfare needs

JAIPUR: The state cabinet has approved to allot land for free or at a concessional rates to various communities for welfare activities. It has decided to maintain the allotment of land made earlier at a concessional rate of 5% to Jatia community in Jodhpur for a girls’ hostel.

The cabinet also gave its approval to allot 1341.08 square yards in khasra No. 609 free to Jatt Patti Prajapat community, Balotara. Earlier, it was decided to give this land at 50 per cent of the then prevailing reserved rate. Besides this, the cabinet has approved to free 6.7 bighas land of Aaraji khasra number 38, 39 and 41 at Sevarampura village in Tonk district from the acquisition.

After the cabinet meeting, minister Pratap Singh Kachariyawas said a proposal was passed to not forfeit the bank guarantee given by late businessman BD Agarwal to the government for setting up a medical college in Sri Ganganagar and to make it free from bank guarantee.

In the meeting chief minister Ashok Gehlot directed all the ministers to visit the districts of charge twice a month. As the cabinet meeting is held every Wednesday, the ministers have been directed not to leave the capital.

Every in-charge minister has been asked to visit the district Congress office, hold public hearings, go to every assembly constituency of the district under his charge, conduct meetings of all departments and prepare progress reports of the government's schemes for public welfare.

Gehlot has told the ministers that Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Bima Yojana, free travel scheme for students in roadways buses, free medicine and testing scheme, scheme for distributing free sanitary napkins to 1.25 crore women under Udaan scheme, preparation of progress report of pension scheme will be done by the minister in charge.
