JAIPUR: The state budget had announced some relief to power consumers. Households consuming up to 100 units per month will get 50 units free while all domestic consumers will get Rs 3 per unit subsidy up to 150 units and Rs 2 up to 300 units of power per month.
The chief minister also announced projects to augment power production.
The budget proposed extension of Chhabra thermal power station with the setting up of two units to ultra-supercritical units with a capacity of 660 MW each at a cost of Rs 9,600 crore. Similarly, three units of ultra-supercritical power plants of 800 MW were proposed to Kali Sindh-Jhalawar thermal power station.
Under the revamped distribution sector scheme to reduce Aggregate Technical & Commercial losses (AT& C) 48 lakh pre-paid smart meters would be installed at a cost of Rs 3,565 crore.
