Rajasthan assembly ruckus: 4 BJP MLAs suspended

JAIPUR: Condemning the behaviour of the BJP in the assembly on the REET issue, chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday asked the party why paper leak cases in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana were not given to the CBI.

The BJP, which is demanding a CBI probe in the REET paper leak, created an uproar in the assembly leading to four adjournments and four BJP MLAs were suspended for unruly behaviour for the rest of the session.

In a long tweet, the chief minister said, "Today in Gujarat, the proposed non-secretariat clerk exam on February 13 has been postponed. This exam has been postponed thrice in four years. He said organised gangs involved in paper leaks, copying and fake degrees in different states were causing problems in all examinations.

Naming the various exams cancelled in BJP-ruled states due to paper leaks, he said, "Police constable exam in Haryana, SDO, RAEO & nurse recruitment exam in Madhya Pradesh, Daroga Recruitment in UP, UPPCL Recruitment, UP lower subordinate exam, village development officer, UP-PAT, UP-TET, UGC NET 2021 conducted by central government, NEET examinations, SSC-CGL recruitment, general duty recruitment in the Army, etc. were leaked and all the examinations had to be cancelled." This should be a matter of concern before the central and state governments. Only the state agencies there investigated the paper leaks in these states. BJP should tell why the investigation of all these recruitments was not given to CBI, he asked.

The CM accused the opposition BJP of instigating the youth of the state resulting in the REET Level-II exam being cancelled. Gehlot added that the hopes of about 15,000 youth were dashed with the cancellation of the exam. Now, the BJP does not want to allow discussion on development issues of the state by creating disruption in the assembly.
