JAIPUR/ALWAR: The Alwar unit of ACB on Saturday arrested IAS officer and former district collector of Alwar Nannu Mal Pahadia, RAS officer Ashok Sankhla and middleman Nitin Sharma for taking a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from a complainant.
ACB DG BL Soni said Pahadia is the commissioner of departmental enquiries (Rajasthan) and Sankhla is a settlement officer in Alwar. Pahadia was relieved from the post of district collector two days ago. Soni said the complainant told the agency that the three were demanding a bribe of Rs 16 lakh as a monthly bond for running his firm’s construction operations smoothly.
An ACB release said under the supervision of the agency’s ADG Dinesh M N, ACB’s Alwar unit ASP Vijay Singh, DSP Mahendra Kumar and his team laid a trap and caught RAS officer Sankhla red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs 5 lakh.
The statement said middleman Sharma was arrested for carrying the money while Pahadia was held from the collector’s residence.
