KOTA: A 23-year-old rape accused, who was out on bail, abducted the rape survivor’s minor brother from Tathed village under Kaithun police station of Kota on Saturday morning and demanded withdrawal of the case against him as ransom to set the boy free. Police swung into action and arrested the accused and rescued the boy within four hours.
Police said the Class 7 student, a resident of Tathed village, did not go to school following which the class teacher informed the family members. The family members initially searched the boy in the village and on not finding, they called suspect Ronak Dhobi, who said the boy was in his custody and would be released only if they withdrew the rape case against him.
Dhobi was arrested over a year ago for allegedly raping the minor boy’s elder sister and he was currently out on bail.
While the report was being written in Kaithun police station around 1pm, police swung into action to trace the accused on the basis of his mobile location, Kaithun SHO Mahendra Maru said.
Location of the accused was first traced in and around Ajmer but later it was traced on Nainwa road in Bundi city.
The police team in coordination with Bundi police rushed to the spot, where the accused was spotted walking with the boy in his arms, he said.
The accused was under Sections 363, 364, 365 of IPC, he said.
