JAIPUR: A 25-year-old woman has been arrested a day after she stabbed her husband at their residence on Gobana Peer Road situated under the Naal police station area of Bikaner.
The woman said she attacked her husband as she got angry after getting to know that he was living in with another woman in a house close to theirs.
Police said the victim, Gauri Shankar Soni (28), had a spat with his wife, Saraswati, when the latter asked him to let her allow to go to her maternal house.
"The woman stabbed her husband and managed to flee from the scene. Neighbours informed us about the incident on late Thursday evening and the man was admitted to the PBM hospital in an unconscious state," said Hans Raj, sub-inspector and investigating officer, Naal police station.
On Friday, the condition of the victim showed some improvement and police went to record his statements. "It was found that Sataswati was angry with her husband after finding him in a live-in relationship with another woman, Naina (26)," said Raj.
Following the statements of the victim, Sarasawati was arrested on the charges of attempt to murder.
Further investigations in the case were on, police added.
