JAIPUR: Altogether 10.41 lakh (66.62%) candidates out of 15.62 lakh registered candidates for Patwari Direct Recruitment Exam-2021 appeared for the test on Saturday and Sunday. In all, 5.31 lakh candidates out of 7.85 lakh appeared for the exam on the second day, informed the chairman of Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Hari Prasad Sharma.

On the second day, 2.66 lakh (67.61%) candidates were present out of 3.94 lakh in the first shift (8.30am to 11.30pm) and 2.65 lakh (67.87%) were present out of 3.90 lakh registered candidates in the second shift (2.30pm to 5.30pm). On the first day, 65.11 per cent of the total candidates had appeared for the exam.

The examinations were held in 1,170 examination centres across 23 districts.

In view of the patwari examination-2021, mobile internet services were suspended from 6am to 6pm in Jaipur and Dausa city areas on both days. The orders in this regard were issued by Jaipur divisional commissioner Dinesh Kumar Yadav on Saturday.

The decision was taken to curb the spread of fake news, rumours about untoward incidents and paper leakage, which may have resulted in a law-and-order situation and disturbance in public peace, the order had stated.

The divisional commissioner had cited prevention of cheating and rigging as major reasons behind clampdown on 2G/3G/4G data (mobile internet), bulk SMS, MMS and social media services.
