Rajan Varghese elected vice-president of Kurash Association of India

KOCHI: Rajan Varghese of Kerala was elected as the first vice-president and technical chairman of the Kurash Association of India (KAI) at the election held in New Delhi on Sunday.

As its technical director, Rajan Varghese has been authorized by KAI to represent it in international meetings and will also be responsible for the selection and training of KAI’s team for international kurash events.

Jagish Tytler was re-elected as the chairman of the association while Ramesh Popli became the president.

The elections were conducted by KAI during the annual general meeting of the body. KAI is affiliated to International Kurash Association (IKA) and is recognized by Olympic Council of Asia and School Games of India.

Representing KAI state units, 30 representatives, who are secretaries and presidents of the state units, participated in the voting.
