Raj Kundra’s bail hearing in Bombay High Court on Monday

The Bombay High Court will hear the bail application of Raj Kundra on Monday. Kundra who has been arrested in an alleged porn racket case has alleged that his arrest is illegal.

Kundra's lawyer Subhash Jadhav on Friday had said that Raj Kundra's arrest is illegal and not a single video can be called pornographic. In the 4000-page charge sheet that has been filed by the police, they have not been able to point out any sexually explicit act in any video which demonstrated illegality under section 67a. The rest of the sections applied to the Raj Kundra are bailable.

Raj Kundra has been booked under sections 420 (cheating) 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisement and displays) of the IPC and relevant sections of the IT act and indecent representation of women (prohibition) act.

He was arrested by the crime branch of the Mumbai police on July 20th and was placed in police custody till July 23. After a recent court hearing his bail was denied and the custody was extended to July 27. This after the crime branch officials alleged that earnings from Kundra’s Viaan Industries may have been used for online betting, too.
