Raith Rovers 0, Hamilton Accies 1: How Accies players rated on cup final day

Ten-man Hamilton Accies won the SPFL Trust Trophy against quite big odds at the Falkirk Stadium.

Reghan Tumilty put the Lanarkshire side ahead with a low shot into the bottom left corner in 29 minutes, from a Reegan Mimnaugh corner, and looked quite assured.

But a straight red card for defender Dan O'Reilly put Accies up against it for most of the second half as Raith pummelled their defence.

However, John Rankin's side held on for a famous win.

Here's how they rated:

Ryan Fulton (GK) - 10

Former Liverpool keeper Fulton got the nod, despite Jamie Smith having played all the previous round, but John Rankin had to go with his first-choice keeper. Made a smart save from Lewis Vaughan just before half-time. Made another big save from Sam Stanton. Pulled one out again from Vaughan in 76 minutes, and Stanton again four minutes later. Outstanding.

Dan O'Reilly - 3

Dan O'Reilly was shown a straight red card for a foul on Sam Stanton (SNS Group)

The big defender was shown a straight red card for a foul on Sam Stanton 10 minutes into the second half, leaving his side up against it. Looked a bit harsh on replays, though.

Dylan McGowan - 7

Captain McGowan led by example in the middle of defence, with Brian Easton adding reinforcements after O'Reilly's dismissal

Matty Shiels - 6

Shiels was injured just before the interval and replaced by Dario Zanatta for the second half. Had done well up until his injury, with some important clearances.

Reghan Tumilty - 8

Reghan Tumilty put Hamilton ahead with a curling shot after 22 minutes (SNS Group)

Former Raith midfielder Reghan Tumilty put Accies ahead in 29 minutes and had another couple of efforts in the first half. Did well back in defence after O'Reilly's red card.

Scott Martin - 8

Midfield general Martin added some experience and poise to Hamilton, keeping his composure when it was needed.

Reegan Mimnaugh - 7

Midfielder Mimnaugh put in a solid shift and it was his corner that led to the opener for Reghan Tumilty.

Lewis Smith - 6

Hamilton fan Smith had a quiet game for Hamilton but did well enough.

Marley Redfern - 5

Young winger from Wishaw pulled up with an injury on the left wing 20 minutes in.

Lucas De Bolle - 7

Hamilton's Lucas De Bolle and Raith's Ryan Nolan battle for possession (SNS Group)

The on-loan Newcaslte midfielder added a bit of quality in midfield where it was needed.

Benny Ashley-Seal - 4

Benny Ashley-Seal tussles with Raith Rovers' Tom Lang, but the striker's game was short-lived as he hobbled off (SNS Group)

Striker Ashley-Seal lasted just 10 minutes before being replaced by Jean-Pierre Tiehi, having gone down injured just inside the Raith box.

Subs:

Brian Easton - 6

The experienced defender was brought on to shore up the defence after O'Reilly's red card, and cleared one off the line

Dario Zanatta - 5

The Canadian striker came on for Matty Shields at half-time, but with O'Reilly's red card there wasn't too much attacking.

Tom Sparrow - 6

Replaced Marley Redfern after 20 minutes and did well in defence.

Jean-Pierre Tiehi - 5

The striker didn't get too much joy up front but also had trouble controlling the ball at times.

Subs (not used): Jamie Smith (GK), Dylan Stephenson, Andy Winter, Fergus Owens, Chris McGinn.

Referee: Colin Steven - 5

Was perhaps hasty with the red card and let too much go in an at-times feisty affair.
