Raipur: Woman, boyfriend kill father in Dhamtari

RAIPUR: A woman in her thirties conspired with her male friend and killed her drunkard father. She said, she was fed up with his drinking habits and his taunts about her lifestyle choices, in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh. Initially, it appeared to be a natural death of 60-year-old man but his wounds were visible just before cremation and based on suspicion, police were informed. He woman is separated from her husband and her father didn’t approve her relationship with another man.

According to information, the 30-year-old Parvati on the night of June 14 had gone out to attend a birthday party with her mother, in Jhura Navagaon village in Dhamtari district. When they returned, they found the man Satturam Devdas dead and assuming that it was a natural death, proceeded for funeral.

When the body was being dressed before funeral, people found marks of wounds on it and they raised suspicion that he might be beaten to death. Satturam’s brother reached the police station with other villagers and the body was seized.

The post mortem reports revealed that the man was beaten and strangled to death. A forensic team from Raipur was called along with dog squad for further investigation. Based on initial probe, police nabbed a villager Roshan Yadav, 35 for questioning and it came to the fore that he was in relationship with the deceased daughter Parvati. He confessed before police that he along with Parvati conspired to kill Satturam as he got to know about their relationship and he had been reacting harshly by abusing her, which upset them a lot.
