
People walk under the sun in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, on Friday, as the Japan Meteorological Agency announced the end of the rainy season in the Kanto-Koshin region, one week earlier than last year and 22 days earlier than average. It is the first time this announcment for the Kanto-Koshin region, which includes Tokyo, has been given in June, according to the agency, making it the earliest announcement since recordkeeping began in 1951.
