Rainton Arena to host huge Spring Fair with rides, beer garden and roller skating rink

It's a bit of a cliché, but there will indeed be fun for all the family when a huge Spring Fair arrives in the North East this month.

After hosting a very successful spring fair, summer festival and its own Winter Wonderland last year, the Rainton Arena, near Houghton-le-Spring will once again welcome an array of attractions for its Spring Fair, which gets going on Monday, April 12.

On the day that the next stage of lockdown restrictions are lifted, with shops and hairdressers re-opening and pubs and restaurants able to serve customers outside, the arena will be home to the massive outdoor event.

And the even better news is that it's FREE to get into and the fair will have its own beer garden.

Teasing the event on their Facebook page on Sunday, Rainton Arena posted: "We are back and BIGGER than ever, with fairground rides, roller skating, beer garden and lots of food stalls."

The Spring Fair will be at Rainton Arena until May 9 and while entry is free you will need to pay for rides and to go roller skating.

There is a midweek offer on tickets with prices set at £2.50 for children and £3.50 for adults, when skating Monday to Thursday.
