BHOPAL: A strong spell of showers ushered in a pleasant evening in Bhopal on Wednesday.
The local weather office said that there is an upper air cyclonic formation over south Gujarat and a trough passing over the northern part of the state. These formations would lead to moderate showers in parts of the state, but by and large, there will be very few showers for next three days.
The day temperature in Bhopal on Thursday was recorded at 31.0 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal mark, while night temperature was recorded at 23.6 degrees Celsius, also a degree above the normal mark. Wind blew southwards packing an average speed of 16 kilometers per hour.
The places that saw recorded showers during the day were: Ratlam 8 mm, Guna 6 mm, Hoshangabad 4 mm, Umaria 4 mm, Sheopurkalan 3 mm, Pachmarhi 2 mm, Gwalior 1.6 mm and Malanjkhand 0.4 mm.
In Thursday’s forecast for Bhopal, the weather office predicted cloudy sky with possibility of thunder and rain. Day and night temperature would be 31 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius repectively, while average wind speed will be 16 kmph.
For the rest of the state, the weather office warned of thunder and lightning in Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Sagar, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Dewas and Indore districts.
