A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Rainham, Kent.
The body of the woman, in her fifties, was found at a property in the Miers Court Road area of Rainham just after 8.30pm on Thursday.
The suspect, in his twenties, was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly afterwards in Rainham High Street.
They were known to each other, Kent Police said in a statement.
The man remained in custody overnight and an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate has been launched.
Police said officers were still at the scene in the early hours of Friday.
